Award This! Eligibility Requirements

We’re seeking the best in independent film across a variety of categories. With this mission in mind, our advisory board and the editors of Film Threat have outlined simple requirements to be eligible for our annual Award This! event.

 

  1. All feature films of any genre MUST have been “commercially released” before October 30, 2025, on any format including theatrical, VOD (video on demand), and on any streaming platform including YouTube. Commercially released is defined as being available to see in a theater, for purchase on digital, to view on demand, or on any streaming service (including, but not limited to, Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc…). A theatrical release IS NOT required, only that the film be available for purchase on any platform (VOD, DVD, iTunes, Vudu, Google Play, YouTube, etc…) or free viewing on any streaming service by October 30, 2025.

  2. All short films and web shows MUST be available to stream on any platform by October 30, 2025. A film festival screening is not required.

  3. All projects MUST have been reviewed on the Film Threat website before the Award This! (To learn how to get your film reviewed on Film Threat, click on the link.)

  4. Submissions for our 2025 Award This! event close on October 30, 2025.

  5. Nominations for the 2025 Award This! event will be announced on the Film Threat website in November 2025.

Films may be submitted for review at Film Threat via the following link. It is strongly recommended that applicants choose the Fast Pass option which guarantees a review within 7-10 days of submission.
